The mission of the HTDPC is to engage community stakeholders in a coordinated and collaborative effort focused on evidence-influenced prevention, education, and advocacy, with the goal of reducing the negative impacts of substance use and misuse in James City County, York County, and the cities of Poquoson and Williamsburg.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

8:30 AM Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.

*Training sessions are limited to 15 participants per training.

ACE Interface Presenter Cohorts 2025

8:30 AM Keith Cartwright, DBHDS ACE Coordinator, and Master ACE Interface trainer is returning to Fredericksburg to facilitate a train-the-presenter for the Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Building Self-Healing Communities. (This is the curriculum facilitating RACSB Prevention Services in the community over the past eight years.) Participants must commit to full attendance each of the three days. Space will be limited to 25 participants.  Registration will close 10 days prior to the train-the-presenter or when 25 participants are confirmed
